Laboure-roi Pinot Noir 750ml

This 100% Pinot Noir hails from the l’Aude region in the South of France. Wine maker notes On each bottle of Laboure-Roi is the regal fleur-de-lys, the emblem of the French King Louis VII. While this house respects its remarkable heritage, it has embraced the future like few other Burgundian producers. Laboure-Roi’s winemaking facility is indeed one of the more technically-advanced within the region, with a cellaring capacity of 1,300 barrels. This supplements an impressive 16th century cellar, which is still used for storage and aging of select bottles.
Technical notes 100% Pinot Noir Grapes are machine harvested in the early morning to avoid the heat of the day, transported to the winery, de-stemmed and ferment for 6-8 days under controlled temperatures with daily pumping over of the juice. Malolactic fermentation follows and the wines mature for an additional 6 months in tank before bottling.

Our Meursault 2007 was voted best white wine in the world at the International Wine Challenge in London. Located in Nuits-Saint-Georges, the Maison Laboure-Roi has at its disposal, for its team of oenologists, some very advanced technical equipment. Its cellars can house more than thirteen hundred barrels and allow for the wines to age in optimal conditions. In order to select and offer the best quality wines, Laboure-Roi works in partnership with various other winemakers. As a part of its commitment to the environment, Laboure-Roi participates, in partnership with Planete Urgence, in the program called A million trees which is backed by the United Nations. This program, launched by Wangari Manthai, Nobel Peace Prize recipient and founder of the Greenbelt Movement, follows the objectives of Kyoto in terms of reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Initially launched in the US during a Beaujolais Nouveau campaign, this program allows for Laboure-Roi to finance the replanting of trees in Mali and Indonesia.
