An Oa is a softer, sweeter expression of Ardbeg. Matured in a combination of ex-Bourbon, ex-PX Sherry and virgin oak casks, this Whisky has an abundance of smoky power, mellowed by a delectable, smooth sweetness. A classic Ardbeg peat. Nose: Charred old tea chests, gunpowder tea, seaweed on a coastal bbq, clove oil, chamois leather, rock pools, lemon balm, soapy & peppery peat, pineapple chunks, ginger powder, salty smoked bacon crisps and liquorice. Palate: Salty beef crisps, green chilli, aromatic black tea, sooty vanilla, toasted lemon rind, herbal lozenges, smoked sultana & raisin, ginger-mocha, lasting peppery sweet peat smoke. Finish: Spicy and peppery with more notes of gunpowder tea, black liquorice, sooty pineapple, green chilli flakes, salty rock pools and toasted coffee beans.
