Wine Tasting Notes
Color: Fine, regular bubbles, with a very persistent bead.
Nose: Intense, fresh and very precise. The bouquet ranges across the entire spectrum of complex flavors, opening with scents of red berries (cherry), crystallized citrus peel and lightly roasted nuts, which after a few minutes airing in the glass is followed by aromas of ageing, such as almond and honey.
Palate: An admirably rounded attack brings further proof of the intensity of aroma that is typical of the 2000 vintage. Scents of white flowers mingle with flavors of red berries, caramel and upside-down apple tart. The texture on the front palate has all the roundness, generosity and refinement that is expected of Louis Roederer. The supporting structure is vinous but not overly robust, with a delightful freshness that underscores the wines precision while creating an impression of lasting finesse.
Overall assessment: A lush, refined and precise winemoderately powerful, exceptionally seductive and entirely characteristic of this classically ripe vintage.
