This is a bold, brawny red from a famous site, velvety in texture and all power and concentration. Forest floor and a touch of smoke complement juicy dark cherry, caramelized oak and licorice, while bright acidity supports the layers of flavor and strong tannins.
Brilliant garnet color, the wine has aromas of black mission fig, sassafrass, bing cherry, and dried crushed violets. The palate reveals deep red fruit flavors of dark raspberry, baking spice, and beautifully integrated toasty oak. This is a dense and generous wine on the mid-palate, that has a robust finish.
