Graham Beck Brut Rose 750ml 1217810*-od

$66.69 $60.99 price per bottle

With its charming silver-pink hue and exuberant character this seriously classy Cap Classique is flirtatious and fun – the quintessential accompaniment to any special occasion, or even just as a special spur of the moment indulgence. An effortlessly smooth blend of the two classic Cap Classique varieties – Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, sourced from our farms in Robertson and Stellenbosch. In the cellar meticulous attention to detail included whole bunch pressing, ensuring only the finest quality juice was used for fermentation, while the cultivars were fermented separately. A special enzymatic reaction during transport of the Pinot Noir fruit resulted in the stunning pale silver-pink hue of the wine. The Rose NV was allowed enough time on the lees to develop subtle yeasty undertones but to burst with berry and cherry flavours. On the nose expect whiffs of raspberries, cherries and a few secondary aromas of minerality. The palate delivers a lively mousse but fine in the mouth, with subtle red berry flavours enlivened by bright acids. Showing hints of oyster shell and fresh lavender. Flirtatious and fun, yet elegant and structured, it’s perfect for all seasons and settings. The ultimate in food friendly wines.

Wine maker notes
The Graham Beck winery's maiden Brut Rosé Méthode Cap Classique was made at the Robertson cellar from pinot noir and chardonnay.

The cellar treatment was unique in that the whole bunches of each cultivar was jointly pressed in the same press.

After fermentation, the wine was bottled for the secondary bottle fermentation with a minimum of 36 months yeast contact before disgorgement.

Producer
Graham Beck’s Robertson estate, Madeba, is situated in the breathtaking Breede River Valley bordering the semi-arid Little Karoo region. The farm is located on the famous Route 62, a meandering country road which takes visitors on an unforgettable tour of the region’s plentiful attractions. At our Robertson Cellar we focus on minimal intervention, allowing instead the authentic essence of the fruit and terroir to shine through in the final wine. Here at Madeba an extensive vine renewal programme has yielded outstanding results with both our red and white varietals. Great care is taken to match the unique micro-climates and diverse soil types to the most suitable varietals. The unique dry, cool climate of the Robertson region combined with the rich limestone soils produce wines with universal appeal and star quality. Our state-of-the-art Cap Classique cellar delivers Methode Champenoise style wines worthy of their reputation as amongst the best in the world. Situated 10 km from the charming town of Robertson and only 140 km from Cape Town, the Graham Beck Robertson Cellar is a testimony to the inspired vision and foresight of the Beck family. With its distinctive hues of peach, green and purple, this unique cellar blends effortlessly into the surrounding Klein Karoo veld, reflecting the beauty of the indigenous fynbos, soils and rocky outcrops of this stark yet spectacular environment. In itself a striking and innovative design, this cellar is responsible for producing our distinctive and world class Cap Classique and still wines. The cellar is divided into three sections. Cellar 1 is dedicated to sparkling wine production, barrel maturation and wine tasting. Cellar 2 is where the grapes are received after harvest and also houses the fermentation and maturation tanks, while Cellar 3 is reserved for bottling, storage and container loading. Guided by our cellarmaster, Pieter “Bubbles” Ferreira, the team adheres to their winemaking mantra: ‘quality is not a destination, it is a journey’. Their mission: the eternal pursuit of the perfect bubble! Recent developments include the addition of a restructured offloading system, which will streamline the harvesting process significantly. In the vineyards the team is doing a test run of an experimental trellising system, which could enhance fruit quality, while new plantings of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir promise great things for the bubblies of tomorrow. “Our aim is to craft Cap Classiques of supreme quality, able to stand their own against the best Champagnes and sparkling wines of the world,” explains winemaker Pierre de Klerk. Here in the heart of South Africa’s very own Provence you’ll discover tasting room facilities unlike any you’ve experienced before. Amidst the tranquility and splendour of Mother Nature you can taste and purchase our exceptional Robertson cellar range of wines. From our award winning single vineyard The Ridge Syrah, Rhona Muscadel or iconic range of Cap Classiques, each wine is testimony to the Graham Beck Wines philosophy of unwavering passion and dedication to expressing the authentic essence of the grape.
