Since establishing Terredora in 1978, a key cornerstone was the rediscovering and restoration of Campanias ancient and authochthon varieties such as Aglianico, Fiano, Greco and Falanghina. These grape varieties are the main characters that have brought about Campanians wine renaissance. Innovation is just as vital a key and it is found throughout the winery, in the vineyards and the cellars. A team of experts at Terredora master the challenge of the future while binding it with traditions, bring to life a unique inheritance that combine culture and customs in a lively way. In 1994, when the business world looked to be pulling the Mastroberardino family in different directions, Terredora decided to take action. A concept was realized that focused on the vineyards and modern technology that strengthened and fostered the avantgarde character of Terredora. Since 1994, Terredora has solely vinified grapes from our private vineyards. This fundamental step was taken to guarantee the highest quality by controlling all aspects of the grape growing cycle fundamental for producing excellent wines. Montefusco, once the capital of the Principality of Ultra, which now part of Irpinia. It is a perfect central hub, as all our vineyards are found in the surrounding area. The state of the art wine cellar is enclosed by the natural landscape of Serra di Montefusco and lies at a height of 650 meters over sea level. It overlooks the D. O. C. and D. O. C. G. wine regions of Irpinia: in Sabato Valley - Fiano di Avellino and Greco di Tufo, and in Calore Valley - Taurasi. |
