Always a pleasure to try this sadly closed distillery with some decent age from the annual Diageo special releases range in 2015. Nose: Smoked candle wax, eccles cakes with dark marmalade, toasted coconut, marzipan with an oily edge, whitecurrants,herbal & anise notes Palate: Oily white chocolate truffles, white berries, smoked elderflower, spicy and aromatic herbal honey, waxy orange, minerally white wine. Finish: spicy anise, herbal honey, menthol, toasted coffee beans, oily stock syrup, subtle smoke and waxy marmalade. 94. 5 points Jim Murray's Whisky Bible "Make no mistake: it is still a stunner, after all these years.
