Featured in the 1001 Whiskies you must try before you die book Sauternes is a sweet pudding wine from Bordeaux, France and the very finest bottles sell for over £100 a bottle and like the other core three finishes in the Arran range spend most of the maturation time in ex bourbon casks for about 8 years and then finished in the wine cask for 6-9 months. Here the sweet wine casks add rich waxy citrus and honeyed fruit notes for a sweeter dessert style dram.
