With a rare depth and minerality bestowed by its uniquely long finish in Bual Madeira casks, Glenmorangie Grand Vintage Malt 1993 is the third release in the exclusive Vintage Collection, Bond House No. 1. Nose: Fruity and subtly smoky, with hints of candied orange peel and wood fires. Then mint toffee, sultanas and a suggestion of vine-ripened tomatoes, give way to a rare minerality and Glenmorangie’s classic fruit notes Palate: A rich, spicy mouthfeel brings tastes of ripe peaches, apricots, melon and baked pears, laced with vanilla custard, cocoa powder and nutmeg’s gentle spice. Finish: Sweet and lingering, with notes of honey and mead entwined with milk chocolate and sugared plums.
