Stauning Bastard is a rye Whisky made purely of local ingredients to the distillery. After 3 years in new, toasted virgin American oak casks, the Whisky enjoys a 6 month finishing period in old mezcal casks from Oro de Oaxaca, Mexico. Nose: Sweet pipe tobacco smoke, raisins, oat biscuit, citrus and oak. Palate: Tobacco, vanilla, barley, dried fruit, cinnamon, molasses, shortbread and oak. Finish: Long and sweet, subtly smoky and salty with pepper led spice.
