Review Robin Lail’s 2016s and 2017s are fabulous. Over the last few years, she and longtime winemaker Philippe Melka have reined in some of the exuberance that at times pushed these wines over the edge a bit. The wines are still rich and sumptuous, as they always have been, but now they have that extra touch of nuance that makes them even more compelling. Naturally, the focus is often on the top wines in this range, but I find the entry-level Blueprint Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon just as compelling. Best of all, both of those wines are tremendous values. - From Napa Valley’s Extraordinary 2016 Cabernets - Part 1 (Dec 2018) by Antonio Galloni
