The first Irish Whiskey to be distilled in County Mayo in over 150 years, Connacht Batch 1 is a small batch, double distilled Single Malt made from 100% malted Irish barley. It has been patiently matured for four years in ex-bourbon casks, before a final finishing in Oloroso sherry casks from Jerez, Spain. Nose: Plenty of raisins and dried fruits followed by a honeyed sweetness, with notes of fudge, butterscotch, an almond nuttiness and hints of star anise. Palate: Vanilla and spices compliment notes of dried fruits and malt. Finish: Warming and full bodied with lingering walnuts and honey.
