A thirteen year old expression from Dailuaine which was distilled in 2007. Finished for thirty one months in a refill Oloroso Sherry cask to develop in complexity. There is a plethora of baked goods on the nose, such as aromas of apple turnovers and toated teacakes. The confectionary continues on the palate - notes of honey cakes, fruit cake with custard and a hint of white pepper to balance the sweetness. A maltiness lingers on the finish, along with some soft floral notes and, surprisingly but not unwelcome, fresh cut grass.
