Double Gold Medal winner at the San Francisco World Spirits competition 2019 The second release of what will be the Viking Legend series following on from the Highland Park Valkyrie. A more phenolic peat level than the Valkyrie and aged in predominantly Sherry seasoned American oak casks with a small amount of Orkney grown Tartan barley used in the mash which adds to a more smokier and lingering sweet and spicy style of Highland Park. Valknut translates as "knot of those killed in battle" and the bottle and its packaging has been designed by a famous Danish designer, Jim Lyngvild. Nose: Toasted vanilla pods, cracked black pepper, oak shavings, cloves, aniseed and aromatic smoke. Palate: Sweet, aromatic cloves join forces with tangy notes of aniseed. Finish: Intensely balanced, bold and courageous, leaves a lingering memory of aromaic peat smoke and sweet spices.
