This full bodied, heavily peated single malt from the Bruichladdich distillery is a vatting of two unique parcels of whisky. The first parcel was matured for 8 years in 1st fill American whisky casks, followed by 2 years in 1st fill wine casks from the Pauillac region of Bordeaux. The second parcel spent 7 years in 1st fill American oak, followed by a maturation in 2nd fill Pauillac casks. The result is an intense, complex, fruit driven whisky with an abundance of peat smoke and oak spice.
