Denizen White Rum is a blended of different imported rums from Trinidad and Jamaica. It is given an "up to 5 years" of aging in oak barrels and filtered before bottling to give it a clear color. The brand name "denizen" is meant to evoke youth, which they announce on their website: "Denizen means to embody liberation, rebellion, and bravery. Our rum is an icon for people coming of age who abandon the traditional path to adulthood. "
