The red-fruit aroma could be easily mistaken for a boysenberry tart, but it's the background notes of sassafras and liquid graphite that keep me coming back for more sniffs. Firm black-tea tannins back blackberry and anise flavors, with just enough acidity to keep things feeling lively.
