A great value for money Sherry cask Macallan bottled by Gordon & Macphail, who are one of the most respected independent bottlers out there and used to be the company that released the official bottles from Macallan. Nose: Coffee and walnut sponge cake, dried fruit, maltloaf, buttered toast with nutella, apricot jam. Palate: Mellow and creamy delivery with soft Sherry oak influence along with notes of praline, frangipane, ginger biscuits and buttery malt loaf. Finish: Apricot jam on buttery brown bread, coffee and walnut, almond milk and late ginger spice. Don't let this being just a 9 year old put you off, The Macallan Gold has no age statement and i know which one i prefer! A very enjoyable soft kiss of a sherried Macallan.
