The result in 2019 was delicious, with a pronounced blackberry and plum fruit that has a distinctly brambly edge, plus a note of menthol, as well as a bit of spice from the Chassin casks. The texture is concentrated and scarcely less powerful than the Vieilles Vignes. Wonderful value in Grand Cru Burgundy. 93 Points - Vinous The 2019 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru "Cuvée Classique" has a fragrant nose with red berry fruit, still that touch of struck flint, fine focus with just a touch of reduction at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with a fine grip on the entry, quite chalky tannins, and white pepper towards the prolonged finish. This Cuvée Classique is ageing with style.
