The Tamnavulin distillery is a producer of single malt Scotch whisky that was founded in 1966. This is a 1979 Tamnavulin single malt, matured in a combination of first-fill sherry butts and bourbon barrels for 39 years, before being bottles for the distillery's Vintage Collection. Aromas of Mediterranean oranges, figs, almonds and freshly-baked ginger cake fill the nose. The palate offers tropical notes of pineapple, roasted coffee and Black Forest fruits. A brilliant scotch with just the right amount of smoke, very smooth overall with a great finish.
