Located in the Friuli, I've often considered Cantina Puiatti to be a visionary for innovation, aesthetics, and creative winemaking. I still talk about the Archetipi Ribolla Gialla these guys used to make--an orange wines destemmed by hand berry-by-berry, one berry at a time. Well, their Sauvignon is a true delight and marries the minerality of the old world with high-toned oceanic influences. Think crushed stone, sea salt, fresh lemons and grapefruit oil. Vinified and aged 4 months in stainless steel. Partner it with fresh garden salads, garlic shrimp, clam sauce, or simply enjoy it as an aperitif all on its own. --Codey Foster, Wine Director
