This wine is a rich, graceful and elegant example of Rutherford terroir. To ensure a pure expression of perfectly ripe merlot, the fruit is hand-harvested in the cool morning hours and sorted by hand as well as with an optical sorter. Whole-berry fermentation in small barrels creates a seamless integration of French oak and a luscious mouthfeel. Flavors of rich black plum and chocolate, coupled with subtle raspberry and toasted vanillin barrel. Merlot with cabernet sauvignon and petit verdot. 100% French oak, about 60% new Partially barrel fermented.
