Chinon is perhaps the greatest appellation for red wines in the Loire Valley. Comprised of 100% Cabernet Franc grapes, this is a wine of complexity and elegance. Violets and clumps of dried earth grace the aroma. Freshly crushed red fruits combine with dried berries and distinct herbal elements on the palate. Floral/earthy notes bringing up the rear. This medium bodied red can also take a slight chill and be enjoyed with hard cheeses, grilled meats and/or vegetables. Cab Franc at its best!
