Grape: Merlot Tasting Notes: Strawberry, Cherry, Cocoa, Blackberry Created in 1930, Mouton Cadet is the result of a history between Bordeaux wines and Baron Philippe de Rothschild. The youngest of the family and the owner of Chateau Mouton Rothschild, he was keen to bring the richness of the prestigious Bordeaux region to a wider audience. To accomplish this, they began producing Mouton Cadet to use grapes from younger vines and other areas of Bordeaux. The wine is aged 4 months in stainless steel. It is light, succulent, elegant, and balanced with a finely chiseled structure, velvety texture, integrated tannins, and mellow acidity. The modern-styled palate exudes strawberry, raspberry, blackcurrant, blackberry, and cherry with hints of mint, tobacco, and cocoa. It's an excellent match for roast lamb or beef, or with rich stews.
