Grape: Zinfandel Tasting Notes: Blackberry, Black Plum, Pepper, Oak Steve and Lori Felten represent the fifth generation of their family to grow grapes in Lodi. They started Klinker Brick Winery and produced their first vintage of old vine Zinfandel in 2000. Klinker Brick Old Vine Zinfandel is a blend of 16 different blocks from old vine Zinfandel vineyards with an average age of 85 years. The low yields of century-old vineyards bring forth notes of sweet tobacco and cocoa. Over the palate came black currants, blackberries, blueberries, plum, vanilla, and oak with hints of black pepper. This balanced and complex wine has a long, lingering finish. Whether you pair it with a burger, ribs, a Summer barbecue, or a roaring bonfire, this wine is sure to please.
