Light, buoyant nose with notes of honeydew melon, vanilla, and subtle spices like nutmeg or cinnamon. The palate offers a spicy experience with hints of dried fruits, caramel, and aged wood. While some find it to be a bit brash and tarry initially, others appreciate its sweeter notes of butterscotch and lingering spice. Ruddellâs Mill Kentucky Straight Rye is derived from a high Rye mash bill and just a touch of Malted Barley. Â It is a Rye mash bill that would have been common in the late 1700s and would today be considered a âHigh Rye. â - Distiller's Notes
