An expansive, complex bouquet evokes cassis, pipe tobacco, cedar and mocha, with a smoky nuance in the background. Sweet and penetrating on the palate, offering intense, surprisingly primary black and blue fruit flavors that are sharpened by juicy acidity. Puts on weight with air and finishes sweet and very long, with supple tannins coming in late. Note that this vintage is the current release for this wine. Starts out soft, then the wine develops powerfully in the mouth. Elegant tannins with a long aftertaste emphasizes the smoothness of the wine.
