Elegant and savory, with plenty of finesse and complexity, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa shows all the friendly sides of this vintage. Beautiful brightness, purity, potential balance and equilibrium, power without excess and sweet tannin, this wine is a rather classic Cabernet Sauvignon. With lots of black fruits, flowers and no hard edges, it's not a blockbuster, but very well-crafted. Drink it over the next 10-12 years.
Swirling the wine in your glass, aromas of black currant, ripe berries and baking spices greet you as you take a breath. Upon tasting, the flavors begin softly and move to a broad mid palate with notes of dark cherry and sage. A moderate finish shows well developed tannin and leaves a hint of dark chocolate and sweet oak behind. With proper cellaring, this wine will evolve beautifully for the next 10 to 15 years.
