Nose: Toasted nuts, grassy peat, a soft hint of honeyed oat-y cookies.
Palate: Salted caramel, vanilla, dried fruit, macadamia nuts, all wrapped in a blanket of fragrant smoke.
Finish: Soft salinity, peppery malt, a subtle citrus-y sweetness.
Springbank have released another edition of its 12 Year Old Cask Strength, and as ever, it's an impressive drop of Cambeltown single malt. This edition matured in 70% sherry casks and 30% bourbon casks for a dozen years before being bottled with an ABV of 56. 2%.
