After making wine in Argentina since 1988, Michel Rolland wanted to create a new project from the ground up. So seduced by the gravelly and infertile soil and by the continental, semi-desert climate of these high plateaus of the Uco Valley, he wanted to establish something completely different. His purpose - to discover a place which takes the name of its terroir, to plant his own vineyard and to create a winery using all that he had learned with the resources he envisioned. In 1999, the land was divided into seven plots and thus was born Clos de los Siete. Michel kept the highest elevation parcel of 100 ha, of which 67 ha are currently planted. Stephanie Rolland, who practically grew up with the project, is increasingly involved in its continuing development and growth.
