Review
Proprietors of fully 90 hectares, Domaine Laroche is one of Chablis’s most important estates, since 2011 ably stewarded by technical director Gregory Viennois, a Chapoutier and Derenoncourt alumnus. More sustainable farming and moderated yields in the vineyards, long pressing in the cuverie, more subtle use of recently used oak and the reversal of Laroche’s early-2000s transition to screwcap closures are some of the adjustments over which he has presided. The challenges of the difficult 2016 vintage notwithstanding, it would be fair to say that Laroche is today producing some of the most interesting wines in its history. My only reservation is that some of the higher appellations are rather aggressively priced - William Kelley, 31st Aug 2018, 31st Aug 2018

Producer
The name Domaine Laroche is virtually synonymous with Chablis. With a history that dates back to 1850, when Victor Laroche purchased his first parcel of land in Chablis, the Laroche family has been dedicated to producing top-quality wines from the region for five generations. Michel Laroche, the great-great-grandson of Victor, joined the family business in 1967, and today remains at the helm. Under his stewardship, Laroche has become one of the most respected producers in Chablis and is one of its largest landholders of grand cru vineyards. Purity and quality are the heart of Michel’s winemaking philosophy as exhibited by the wines produced at Domaine Laroche.
