William Wolf Rye Whisky is produced in small batches. Batch #1 is a limited edition of 4,164 bottles. Unlike most Rye whiskies, William Wolf Rye is produced from a mash of 100% Rye and Malted Rye and is distilled in small copper pot stills. The result is an exceptional flavor that is perfect when served straight up or in a cocktail.
The company’s name was inspired by the (in)famous American moonshiner and travelling musician William Wolf. He was known far and wide across the American South during the prohibition for distilling, and often flavoring, exceptional whiskeys. By using prohibition era recipes and real ingredients in our own whiskeys, we strive for an authentic flavor that has the same renown as the legend it’s named for. Nobody really knows what became of the celebrated moonshiner but we like to think he’s still out there, somewhere, enjoying a drink of the whiskey that bears his name.
