Elephant London Dry Gin is a handcrafted premium gin of 45% ABV that captures the spirit of Africa. Its innovative blend of 14 botanicals combines rare African ingredients with fresh apples that make Elephant Gin distinct from any other.
The design of Elephant Gin’s logo as a stamp is a nod to the letters sent home by the 19th century explorers of Africa, in which they described the botanical discoveries they made. Writing letters was the only form of communication at the time, without which Elephant Gin may have never heard the tales of these explorers. Each bottle is custom-made and embossed with a crest in the shape of the typical tribal shield. Elephant Gin’s labels are hand-written by a calligrapher and carry the name of a past great tusker or elephant that its partner foundations currently help to protect.
Elephant Gin produces award-winning handcrafted premium gin products made with rare African botanicals. While its story started in South Africa, Elephant Gin is handmade in Germany with a focus on highest quality production standards. All ingredients are hand-selected, bottles custom-made, labels hand-written and production efforts controlled by working in small batches. The idea for an African-inspired gin evolved while reminiscing about the so-called ‘sundowner’ drinks after a day out in the South African bush. These sunset cocktails are a big tradition in South Africa - and more often than not, they consist of a G&T. The idea was backed by a mutual love of exotic African botanicals and a realisation that these would make interesting additions to a premium gin, alongside more traditional botanicals such as juniper and orange peel. Elephant Gin is distilled using 14 botanicals, including rare African ingredients that haven’t been used in gin-making before. The botanicals are hand-selected to limit any impurities and ensure only the highest quality ingredients are used.
