Matured in an ex Oloroso Sherry Cask, The Glenfarclas 50 Year Old has been bottled at 41. 1% abv and limited to only 937 bottles worldwide. A non-chill filter expression with a fresh sweet sherry aroma, which accompanies an unexpected youthful exuberance from such an aged whisky and after time creme caramel and butterscotch.
On the tongue, there is a bold spiciness followed with a subtle hint of toffee treacle, chocolate ice cream and sherry soaked raisins.
On the finish, a wonderful balance of sherry, spiced fruits and cinnamon and an everlasting sweetness which you would expect from 50 years in their finest sherry casks.
