Pernod Aux Plantes D'Absinthe Supérieure Brilliant yellow green tourmaline color. Rich dimensional aromas of anise, five spice, sweet herbs, and spicy meringue and follow through on a broad, vibrant entry to a lightly sweet and bitter full body with a superb balance of anise, herbs and an underlying creaminess. Finishes with a long lemongrass, aniseed, and bitter wormwood fade. Brilliantly crafted and balanced even at full strength. Tasted louched as an absinthe cocktail: Hazy peridot color. Rounded, more emphasis on the herbal, pleasingly bitter wormwood, earthy dried herb, and crushed aniseed notes. A very seriously poised and wondrous digestif. In 1805, Henri Louis Pernod founded the first French Absinthe Distillery in Pontarlier. From the first Maison Pernod-Fils distilleryto the infamous absinthe ban, La Belle Epoque to the re-discoveryof the original recipe, the rich history of the Maison Pernod spans more than two centuries. In 1926 The Pernod brand comes back to life with a aniseed spirit at 40°, that replaced absinthe and is still produced to this day. PERNOD CLASSIC WAS BORN.
